Shoretel has recently stopped the sale of most of the 200 and 500 series phones, including the following models
Shoretel IP230 Shoretel IP265 Shoretel IP560G Shoretel IP565 With the remaining few models of this series set to reach their end of sale date on June 30, 2016. Shoretel cited a difficulty in the continued supply of parts for these phones as the reason for the termination of the sales of these phones. The reality is that with the purchase of M5 and its conversion to Shoretel Sky, Shoretel found itself in a situation where it was offering a service that were not compatible with its current line of phones. This necessitated the advent of the new Shoretel 400 line of phones, at that point it was cumbersome for Shoretel to carry redundant lines of phones. While no longer sells these phones, they have announced that they will still be supporting the phones that are under a service contract with them for 5 years from the purchase date. They have also announced that they don't anticipate any software compatibility issues with the older model phones in the foreseeable future. WHAT THIS MEANS FOR CURRENT SHORETEL USERS The Shoretel 400 series including the ip420, ip480, ip480G, ip485 phones are only compatible with release 14 and above, so if you have a Shoretel System with an older release, or if you are happy with your current model of phone and want to retain uniformity in your business, you can still purchase these models from Business Technology Resale. We carry a full line of Shoretel Phones, with most models ready to ship
